Neutral or earth tone paint

Choosing a wall paint color is a great first step in designing a space.  This decision sets the tone…literally. Choose a color scheme that is neutral because neutrals tend to be naturally soothing.  Examples of great neutral colors include tans, grays and whites. Be sure not to choose a shade that is too dark. Lighter neutrals keep the space open and airy.

Natural elements

Incorporating natural elements takes your mind away from your home bathroom and allows it to escape into the peaceful outdoors.  Wood or faux wood flooring or tile are great options. Easier, less expensive options are DIY small to medium sized potted plants or wooden sticks in clear vases.

Storage

Clutter-free organization is a must when creating a relaxing environment.  If the space is too busy, your mind will remain busy. Large wicker baskets provide ample storage for extra towels, toiletries and more.  Wicker also gives you another opportunity to incorporate those natural elements.

Towel and rug update

Not only do new towels and rugs refresh the space, but they are also more hygienic.  Every few years, splurge a little on these items. Choose a material that dries quickly and feels soft to the touch.  Just remember to choose natural colors that are consistent with the other colors in your space.

Pamper yourself

Hooray!  You’re almost there!  Most importantly, practice self-care.  Spend the next hour in your spa retreat doing something you enjoy.  Soak in warm water, burn your favorite candle, listen to soft music, read a book, enjoy that glass of wine or even scroll through social media if you’re an IG addict.  Wrap up by moisturizing with a Skin Deep Body Souffle. The Pomegranate Shea Body Souffle is our personal favorite.

You have just created the ultimate spa experience; what’s even better, you don’t have to leave the house to experience it!

Help! What’s your favorite DIY style tip that’s easy to do?
